Hobbies

One of my absolute favorite hobbies is reading! I enjoy when my daughter and I decide to read the same book together, and then compare notes. I would say a typical week consists of having read between one to three books. It depends on the difficulty of the book. I am currently learning Latin since Medieval Literature is my area of study and the language is present throughout most texts. Middle English is a wonderful language to learn and I have been working on mastering the language over the past few years. I read it extremely well, but speaking it is not so easy! Since I will be serving as a Teaching Assistant in the Fall I am in the process of conducting research on the Victorian era and the way in which texts were published. Due to the economic turmoil of the era, books were not published in their entirety, and most writings that we have become familiar with were actually first released in newspapers (i.e. OLIVER TWIST). When I am not doing academic based activities I stay outdoors as much as possible. My family and I love to go on long walks, biking, and camping. We also enjoy having our Friday night movie nights!
